Saying goodbye is never easy, no tis not
For parted no one wants to be from loved ones
So when this goodbye is forever, where to begin
How do you say farewell to a person so dear
A person so sweet, so loving and so warm
When all you want is to bask longer in that warmth
In so short a time, you came to mean so much
Creating your place within my heart, here always you will dwell
A part of me you have become, forever I will carry you in my spirit
The pain of your departure is so sharp
You left so unexpected, so very sudden
Without giving me a chance to say ta-ta
At times I feel like I am dreaming
Oh how I wish I can wake up
But alas it is not a dream, for God called you home
Yet how I wish for one last embrace, just one last joke
Just a last moment, just to say one last time that I love you
But will I be able to let go, that will be just too hard
Although our time together was short
You left me so much to cherish, so many memories
For it matters not the quantity, tis the quality that does
In these memories I take comfort
Your beautiful smile, your caring nature
Your steadfast faith in God and his will
Yes his will, tis why you left, you obeyed his calling
I believe he wanted to save you from suffering
From the ills of this place called earth
So my dearest friend, with tears in my eyes
And a pain that threatens to swallow me whole
But with a joyful heart, I bid you farewell
Yes my heart is joyful, for having known you
You were a blessing and I owe you so much
God only takes those he loves the most
I hope to meet you someday again
When God calls us home on judgment day
Until then rest in his eternal peace Sandra
