Separation Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Separation

Half-truths dance
across apologetic pages
filled with intentions
to manipulate in stages

Words that once would
have warmed a heart
now leave a trail of tears
as the letter is torn apart

A declaration of affection
cannot erase broken trust
A request for forgiveness
lies scattered in the dust
