September 11th, 2001 Poem by Jon M. Nelson

September 11th, 2001

Hundreds are unaccounted for
Still there are hundreds more.
Helping out one by one,
Yet the task remains undone.

Tragedy pulls us together
The hope shall last forever.
Friends, neighbors, and strangers combine
All in hopes that there's still a sign.

Race or religion doesn't matter
As the masses start to gather
The human species is united
For this wrong that shall be righted.

The world shall unite as one
For this evil there will be none.
As the hand reaches out
Our hearts will all lose doubt.

The human spirit will live on
For all this hatred will be gone.
There is hope and we all shall find
For the world is united as one mankind.
