Seriously? Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Seriously?

If not advertised to market and sell,
What is bought to believe has value...
Would not be thought as worthless,
Or a bunch of crap,
Produced and sold to those...
That will buy anything seen on TV.
Even medications they do not need.

But if they can look as gorgeous as possible,
Like the models hired...
No one sees walking their neighborhood streets.
People deceived will do whatever it takes,
To imitate with a wish someone says...
You remind me of Zeus, Atlas, Nefertiti or Cleopatra.
It's there. Captured. Even those blind can see it.

"Seriously?
I have had that said before.
However...
I've learn not to let,
Validations overwhelm my modesty.
Remaining humble is a virtue."
