And so the story of my life still goes
Full of Joy, but my fair share of woes
Even though it breaks, my heart still grows
Each day I wake to challenge what life throws.
I won't break down, I wont lie down
I do my best to smile, when I want to frown
Fill my life with colour, instead of a dying brown
My life is mine to live, my love mine to give
For what I have lost now, I can no longer grieve
As my heart's pain is greater than even I can conceive.
Don't hold me up, I can do it myself, i have to try
Or fall upon my knees, helpless, as life passes me by.
Not only do I refuse to let you see my pain, or see me cry
I will keep my Chin up, Chest out, but most of all my head held high.
You did not break me, you did not keep me,
But through the cracks, it is daylight I can see...
I choose to take control of what my tomorrow will be
And so I take flight, released from my bonds, I set myself free!
