Shadow Of Yourself Poem by Joanie Tarr

Shadow Of Yourself

Rating: 5.0

Ever wonder why you cry
Ever wonder of days gone by
You sit and stare up at the sky
but life is lived in time gone by.

A Shadow walks across your path in the dark
A Shadow has left her paw print mark
Never again her mewling to hark
And I am left with the broken heart.

I ask myself why do I love?
Why feel if feeling is so fleeting?
What purpose was there in our meeting?
Pain comes searing, slithering, seething.

I find no resolution in love, no harmony
No truth, comfort or joy....
A void where once my heart had been
You stole it, controlled it and finally dropped it.

A Shadow walks across your path in the dark
A Shadow has left her paw print mark
Never again her mewling to hark
And I am left with the broken heart.

This poem has such a gorgeous lyrical quality. And it does remind me...why does love come with so many questions? A beautiful poem.
