Seven Dead In Illinois Poem by elysabeth faslund

Seven Dead In Illinois

Rating: 5.0

But...read about the
Dinosaurs
Discovered in Africa?

Read about that
Football player's
Mouth
Getting him in
Trouble?

How about those
American Idols?
Great moments
In Nascar?

Read all that today?
But.....

Seven dead in Illinois.

And what rough beast,
Its hour come round
At last...
Slouches towards
Journalism
To be born? *

Seven dead in Illinois.

*Paraphrase from lines in 'The Second Coming'

Pop star whores herself stuffs herself full of drugs and booze, then creates blue murder because she has the children taken off her thats the press's idea of news hardly surprising they both live in the same pond, the tragedy of those poor victims and their families is one of the saddest facts of modern day society. A story that should be told 10 Chris x

Very well done. It's amazing once people think about it, they never do put that type of thing in a newspaper, magazine, or on the news.

It's never easy to read about events such as this, and as hard to write well about them. Very strong effort, from the outside looking in, and a good examination of the disease of which this was just one (painful and contagious) symptom.

A very good point effectively made. The media have lost sight of values these days.. they couldn't cheapen life more efficiently if they tried. Stick it to them EF. xxx

How tragic that news of every kind becomes homogenized! Indiscretions, science discoveries, atrocities all seem to bear too similar weight. Read a story - go on to the next. For the seven in Illinois there will be no more stories! !
