Shades Of A Garden Poem by Phil Soar

Shades Of A Garden

The garden has so many shades of green
Broken by the plants now straining to change the view
From those that summer beckons
and the ones that leave spring behind
Ever gaining height or spreading out for you
Transforming the landscape
Brightening the perimeters
Setting the coming summer
Telling a growing story
From perennial re-birth
To change the borders
To sweep majestically across the garden
A joy
And the many shade of green set them aside
Draw them in and share the background
Beauty
No more touching scene can there be
In between spring and summer
delightful
