Shadow Hunters Poem by Chris Embrick

Shadow Hunters

Shadow hunters seek the moonlight
Peruse the forest dark and deep
Nocturnal lord while others sleep
Eyes penetrate the darkest night
Choosing their prey from lofty heights
Listening for the next meals squeak
Shadow hunters seek the moonlight
Peruse the forest dark and deep
Nothing escapes the wise owl's sight
Death quickly over from its beak
Too late to run, too late to leap
Now once again the forest's quiet
Shadow hunters seek the moonlight
Peruse the forest dark and deep.
