Bright morning
Lone walk felt
All the more
Interesting
In the company
Of my own shadow.
Sun behind
Shadow in front
Thin and long
Twice my height
I kept following
My own shadow.
The shadow kept
Changing at every turn
Taking the contour
Of the uneven ground
Shadow, my friend
A great companion.
I kept thinking
Of all the shadows
Cast by others
Throughout my life
Like great trees
They gave me comfort.
Shadow appears
Shadow vanishes
Leaf on a tree
Casts its shadow
A fallen leaf
Hides its own.
