Shadow's Eyes - Poem by Perfect Fool

I could sit here every night
And I will
In the seeping blackness of my room
In the heart of a cold and desperate night
In the heart of every cold and desperate night
They’re all the same
Sitting here
Night after night
Dark and cold

Where nothing has a name
In my night
My ice cold silence warms me
Listening to the nothingness
The emptiness falling softly around me
Where the destruction of the world
Can't be seen
Through the blackness of my dark
My darkness

My life amongst the shadows
My shadow
Gently watches me
Although I can't see it
It watches
Stares back at me through the gloom
Shadows eyes
So deep I could fall in
Fall in

A rough cold blanket scrapes my cheek
My knees tucked to my chin
Slowly, cold feet on a stone floor
And stare into the glassy water
A black mirror face looks back
Nothing reflected
Nothing but the obscurity
And nothing but two dark circles
My shadow’s eyes
