Shadows - Poem by Will David

A shadow comes and goes with light,
A shadow in light never leaves sight.
Standing still all day long,
Your shadow dances to the daylight song.
Mockery is the shadows game,
Bright light around the abyss of black sin and hiding shame.

A sinful shadow will grow with addiction,
To make a bigger and darker reflection.
A shadow is your sin and past behind you,
Don’t stop moving and let your past find you.
When light rests the sins rest with it,
No one can help to keep from missing it.

In the light a shadow can be seen of everyone,
God’s eyes can see through anyone.
Your shadow gets bigger as you get older,
Keeping track in your own memory folder.
Following you around with a reputation,
Sin has its way to collect past self reparations.

A shadow comes and goes with light,
A shadow in light never leaves sight.
A shadow reminds us of a deep dark secret,
So best not to make them so you don’t have to keep it.
