Shadows Poem by Tina J. Dang

Shadows

In the corner of a circle,
On the curved side of a square,
There is a dark spot
That people wish just wasn't there.
This is my home forever,
Where my posessions lie.
But there are no shadows that can pretend to reach the sky.
Some people came to visit
Not too long ago.
They tried to tell me I was wrong.
And told me things I already know
'Get away from me! ' I said to them.
'Don't tell me how to feel!
Give me a reason to believe,
That all of this is real! '
I'm drifting in the shadows,
But I like it that way,
Because the shadows are the ones,
Who bind tomorrow and today.
