Shadows Poem by Amanda Miller

Shadows

Rating: 5.0

The shadows move,
Without watching the ground.
They try to speak,
But there is no sound.

They look to the heavens,
Seeking refuge from hell.
They cover their faces,
Never removing their veil.

They follow lost souls,
Hoping to reveal,
Their lost hearts,
And yet the earth moves still.

They unclose their eyes,
And look through the past.
Recovering their memories.
Crying tears that don't last.

They call to the gods,
Hoping for an answer,
But depression comes instead.
Covering them like a cancer.

They stare unwillingly,
At what lies ahead.
They speak not to the living,
And remain only with the dead.
