I was sad and feeling low,
Wondering why life was treating me so,
When a kind friend came along and said,
“Have a good laugh at yourself,
It will do you a world of good,
You are taking life too seriously.
And thinking more than you should.
The world’s got greater problems to think about,
And no one’s really concerned if you scream and shout.
Your troubles are nothing to surmount to,
Let love and laughter guide you through.
Reach out to others with a smile each day,
For everyone needs a smile today.”

These words of wisdom,
Made my burden lighter.
Soon I realized, that its easy to be nicer.
Just exchanging a smile,
Could make another’s day worthwhile.
So I resolved to throw those negative feelings away,
And reach out to all with my best smile, today.
