Sharing Doubt And Tensions Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Sharing Doubt And Tensions

We are living in times,
When created man made confusion...
Has been used as a tool,
To keep many minds blinded.

Truth to distort it for what it is,
Has left more than a few...
Feeling hopeless and negative.
And accepting this outlook.
Making this everyday,
For themselves come true.

Those who wish and want to get,
An attitude that is positive...
Without self doubt to share,
Or this to daily talk about.
Have to remain conscious.
With a changing of their 'normal' routine.
And rely on faith.
To re-evaluate for them what that means.
Done to do refusing to make excuses.
Or believe to expect,
Conflict to live it.
Adapting to adjust to division.
And racial tensions permitted.
Will somehow one day just fade away.
If we only stayed,
Tolerating patiently...
For a remedy to come from God.
While anticipating this to happen.

As if the reality of these times we live,
Is not clearly the message sent that says...
"Rise up from your butts folks.
Give up your delusions man-made.
Return to your faith.
Without attempting to find ways,
To escape from reality and its truth.
Hoping the comfort,
Of a wanting back a 'normalcy'...
More to value and man-made to produce.
Is as crazy as wanting back,
The pain of a decaying tooth! "
