Shattered To Pieces Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Shattered To Pieces

Excessive confessions!
To whom should they matter?
After truth and facts battered,
Have been shattered to pieces.
And blown away to scatter in winds.
Never to return their meaning back again.

Excessive confessions,
Pausing between tears...
To wipe from eyes not to appear,
Overwhelmingly empathetic.
Or attached to a performance.
Clearly distant from the character portrayed.
And unable to gain sympathy,
From those who live to know pain.
For what it is and from where it came.
Remaining to feel it kept sustained.

Excessive confessions!
Leave what effective lessons learned?
And from who are they taught,
To keep them concealed until a later date.
Seeking for an appropriate time to await,
With it to hope and wish...
Forgiveness to get will be given.
Done to make a difference,
Much too late to be made.
