She Always Held This Grudge - Poem by Nick Kler

She always held this grudge
That I never opened up
Or ever shared with her
Depth of my shit!

Little does she know
All I ever held
Deep within myself
Are deep sated wounds
That she had inflicted
Under distress or in awe!
I always carry them with me
Wherever I go

What was she expecting?
If I really open up
What would she find?
I really don't know

An ancient tambourine, perhaps
A paper made of gold?
