She Holds The Pen Poem by Nicole Anne Sia

She Holds The Pen

Rating: 4.5

We live in a world that's run by fools
Whose mouths run faster than a hand could write;
Whose hands command another's pen by rule;
Whose pens draft stories but in spite.

While chaotic folks run amok and all,
There came forth one brave soul.
With wits and candor, she stood tall;
Against all odds, she's set a goal.

Brave was she who clutched her pen,
Brandished it like a hefty tool
For she knew right there and then
That she was a worthy fool.

With a weapon in hand, she penned her tale -
In every word, she spoke her mind;
In every stroke, a bias assailed;
In every idea, she woke the blind.

Although the world is still in disarray,
She's sure to withstand the troubles ahead.
As she holds her pen, she's certain of her way
For she is the author of her own head.
