She Knows Poem by Amber Piercy

She Knows

She Knows

Prompt: The Truth Gets Thrown To The Ground!

Elenore Saga Part: 10

The smell of pot roast simmers on hot coals
My belly grumbles in anticipation
Elenore begins to bake the rolls
My mind is screaming, with deabation

For, twas' this morning, she said we needed to talk
My soul, automatically froze
My brain, went into shock
Oh, dear God, I wonder if she knows

My past, has come back to haunt me
Oh God, what am I going to do
Oh despair, you taunt me
Now, I'm about to lose you

We eat, in utter silence
I feel like I can't take it anymore
My nerves are so tense
She throws the letters on the floor

The pain, in her eyes, kills me
She calmly whispers, I want the truth
Please Charles, make me see
Before you lies the proof

Sadly, I cry out, oh Elenore I'm sorry
For destroying your trust
She doesn't mean anything to me
She wasn't worth hurting us

Will you ever be able to forgive me
For all that I've done
For, it was because of she
That this saga begun
