She Longs For The Past Poem by Joyce Hemsley

She Longs For The Past

Whenever she is lonely
And feeling oh so blue,
She rests her head...closes her eyes
Dreaming of only you.

Only you could cheer her day
With the love you had to give.
Life was full of meaning then
A reason just to live.

You were so young and handsome
How she admired your ways.
Such kindness and generosity
You brought to fun-filled days.

But now alas those days are gone.
Her life's tainted with misery.
She yearns and longs so for the past
When your kiss was sweet ecstasy.

It's never too late to start over anew
Come back, and she will forgive.
Love her forever, smiling her way
As long as you both shall live.
