She Might Be A Stranger To Me Poem by Francis Duggan

She Might Be A Stranger To Me

Shoulder length brown hair one of beauty rare
Of which it did seem she was quite aware
More than three decades since her I last see
Nowadays she might be a stranger to me.

I asked her on a date she answered no
She loved someone else she had me to know
I wonder did she marry and children bear
The lovely brown eyed one with chestnut brown hair.

The clock on our lives it keeps ticking away
She well may be a grand-mother today
I last met her more than three decades ago
The clock it ticks on and it does not tick slow.

Perhaps I'd not recognize her now if we met
But not having known her better I do not regret
Whether she did or did not become a mother and wife
I hope she has happiness in her life.
