She Never Made It To The Tiger Bar Poem by Raj Dronamraju

She Never Made It To The Tiger Bar

She felt oppressed by my photos in social media
The blank face above another blank person
But still it was her idea to meet at the Tiger Bar

I was unprepared for a meeting at the Tiger Bar that would not change things significantly
That would come without any hidden meanings, without uncertain behind a curtain
All her dresses are carefully sourced vintage wear
All of her friends are Jehovah's Witnesses

It is not much of a challenge to fabricate an excuse
Had to work late, my car broke down, had to take a sick parent to the doctor
I was unprepared when she didn't offer an excuse
Her absence was more like a phenomenon as it defied explanation

Dear Rasputin headed absentee, something to take the edge off in the Tiger Bar please
It would have been better for this meeting that didn't happen if you had not looked at my photos in social media
Although you would tell me the next time we run into each other that they wouldnot have tipped the scales in any event

It is really sad that she could not made it to the bar and kept you waiting. Very nicely done poem. Enjoyed. 'Although you would tell me the next time we run into each other that they wouldnot have tipped the scales in any event'..is so nice. Thanks for sharing.
