She Was My Sister Poem by jasmine Johnson

She Was My Sister

It’s been a year,
But it feels like she’s still near.
She was like my sister,
But no matter what I do, I still miss her.

It happened one fog day,
I wish we went the other way.
We both wanted to go to the park,
I remember it was almost after dark.

We were almost there,
But then the car came out of no where.
Everything happened so fast,
I woke up in an itchy cast.

I asked everyone where she was,
No one said a word cause……..
It hit me hard, right then,
I just lost my best friend.

She was everything I wanted in a friend,
She really did stay until the end.
I’ll never ever forget her,
Because to me, she was my sister.

Consider less end-stops to help mute the bluntness of your rhyme. Maybe a nonstandard rhyme scheme would help you. The message of your poem I can definitely understand but your rhyme can drown out your work.
