She Would Not Speak Poem by moon batchelder

She Would Not Speak

she would not speak
nor he give ear to what
she had to say.
such was their love
and such their
bold pretense.

she was not weak,
nor was he strong
enough to play his part.
yet lust proscribed
they share a
circumstance.

salvation worketh
but by fear,
still neither was afraid.
so nothing could
deter them from
their course.

but sudden as
this love appeared
it just as sudden
failed.
tho neither could agree
on when that was.

they spend their days
in shadows of the way
it should've been.
in each the seeds of
where it all went
wrong....

for she would not speak
nor he give ear
to what she had to say.
she was not weak enough,
he was not strong.
