She's No Queen Poem by Randy McClave

She's No Queen

I see the woman that I once dated
Not being with her I'm now very elated,
I see her worn out clothes and unkept hair
No longer at her do I fantasize and stare.

Now she opens her very own door
Where I had always opened it happily before,
I say that no one pulls out her chair when she dines
And I bet no one listens or cares when she whines.

Happily and excitedly I use to take her shopping
But, now her tears and self pity she is probably mopping,
And whatever the she needed I always bought
And everything that her and I owned, I got.

I use to hold her hand when she crossed a creek
Mishaps for her I never did want or seek,
Never would I allow her to trip or fall
Protecting her I believed was my greatest call.

I bragged about her wherever she and I ever went
And I swore to all that she was heaven sent,
I always treated her like she was my delicate queen
And around her I never cursed, and never was I obscene.

She wanted another man to be her king
So, she left me not wearing a ring,
She left me because she didn't want a man like me
Instead she found a man who controlled and abused her constantly.
