Shifting Sands Poem by JoAnn McGrath

Shifting Sands

Here I am at the shores edge again
Standing in the shifting sands
With each wave that crashes from the sea
My immobility prevents me to proceed

With each wave that crashes to the shore
I find myself sinking more
My world's the shifting sands
The waves keep pounding more demands

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

JoJo - A beautiful metaphor for a life slowly sinking. Let's hope you learn how to swim, very quickly. Seriously, I love this! Best wishes - Cheryl

JoAnn, the first steps are the hardest, once you've taken that first the rest slowly become easier. Think of some one's hand you want to hold and move forward to meet it. Said, poignant poem. Top marks and thanks for sharing it my friend. David

You just have to ride those waves and also LOOK for the 'Footprints' in the sand, and know you're not alone.....sad but such a good poem......marci.xo
