The shinglebuck lizard does be
Australian blue tongue born and bred,
And is known romantically
As a monogamous co-ed.
They live alone most of the year,
But in September reunite.
The same couple do reappear
To repeat the same mating rite.
The same husband and the same wife
Do keep in mind a common date,
And do so for all of their life,
And do find each other to mate.
On a scale of lasting endure,
A lizard love story for sure.
