Short Little Dude Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Short Little Dude

Remember when you were a little boy
You got the nickname, 'short little dude.'
You laughed, but later the label did annoy.
The reference tag was like being tattooed.

We were resigned to your small appearance.
Overnight you began to miraculously grow.
Week after week you grew with perseverance.
Your towering frame now casts a long shadow.

No longer do people tease you and make remarks.
Now you are a person that everyone looks up to.
Gone is the echo from comments said as larks.
A grand young man replaces a boy we once knew.
