Her eyes no longer shine,
have lost their radiance,
are filled with sorrow
and show an injured look
And even the smile on her small face
is convulsive and without spontaneity,
has disappeared forever
For the truthfulness of life
has already been taken from her
by the violence of war
at a very young age
