Sick leave was the leave,
I wanted to avoid,
Be it fever or something else,
I did always hide.
For sick leave was the leave,
I wanted to avoid.
Often with inner guilt of ignoring my health,
I went to office with showy pride,
'ZERO UNPLANNED LEAVES'
Was the commitment to myself that I needed to survive!
I did manage it quite well for some time,
Took medicines and went to work,
Prayed HIM (GOD) for wellness at that time,
Meanwhile everything always went fine
Now was the turn of something,
That I could not hide,
For each could see it in my eyes!
First, it seemed like a heinous surprise,
For no one dared to talk while looking in my eyes.
It wasn't even possible for me to avoid,
For I noticed to have a SWOLLEN RED EYE!
As left with no other choice,
Went to doctor for some magical hymn.
Hymn to recover,
Hymn to shrink my swollen eye.
But doctor shattered the figment of showy pride,
After, doctor examined my heinous eye.
Bundle of eye drops,
And days of rest,
Was hymn for that bloody eye.
Along with sick leaves paid as penalty for ignorance at first sight.
One thing for sure,
I did now realize.
Nothing is kept in showy pride,
Sick leaves are meant to be taken,
And not to avoid,
If heart still feels guilty,
Just take them, but don't apply!
ENJOY!
sick leaves are meant to be taken, but in certain countries, people are so scared and in other countries people buy the sick leave from Doctors to enjoy a day or two. an interesting poem on a new subject! Tavneet Singh!
