Sight Beyond Sight Poem by Sven Rhoads

Sight Beyond Sight

Standing at the crossroads of who I was and who I could be
Life has sent me on a journey to hell and back again
I cannot just wish for it all today
And make all of this just go away
Looking far out into the world that seemed so empty before
Now with these brand new eyes I'm seeing things clearer now
Lets raise it all to the surface
And get rid of the poison so worthless

I knew I was damaged before these times
I never knew the extent of the ruins inside
Like the phoenix, I will come back anew
A better version is coming into view
I knew I was scarred, holding memories to keep
But I never knew that wounds could run so deep
Buried alive, I will climb out the grave
With sight beyond sight for a future to save

Nothing now is off the table
But nothing is written in stone
For in these hands I'll be able
To make it with you or alone

Standing in the space between the earth and the sky
Carried on the river as I let go of all these demons
One by one they will fade away
But the course of time must be plaid
As moon stands high upon the star ridden night
No clouds obscure the light that is on my way
No sense waiting to get into the fight
And become a better man with sight beyond sight
