Sight In Questioning Poem by ellery lim

Sight In Questioning

I asked the heavens
Why I was born
To this world of injustice
Destruction and scorn
Where love becomes hate
And life is a state
We all will go through
The wise and the fool
We live till each day
Has matched its match
And go our way
Alone or attached
Reviving the times of good in life
But see how tragedy took away all my blithe
I tried to think away from death
But regret happens to be all that is left
I tried to stay in track of good
But my ways are marked by my mood
I do things rash and too fast
Without thinking or learning from the past

I see depression in care
Repression of drugs
Drinks that men share
I know that it sucks
But men do not think
They continue to drink
They push drugs to the brink
But they are the ones to sink

But what good is knowledge in a fool’s eye
It’s like giving pearls to pigs and ridicule the wise
How then do we live?
With just one try
On earth, in space
Or in the sky
