Sights And Sounds Of The Garden Poem by Phil Soar

Sights And Sounds Of The Garden

I'm looking out my patio window
The image highlights the green

Senses of winter far gone
Summer closing with an abundance of detail

The background of the trees seem just a buffer
The suns light makes the laurel glisten

And the chatter of the birds, unseen,
Only makes the picture fuller

You could fall asleep if this was an audio disc
Running water from a small water feature

The breeze so gentle it moves like a ballet dancer
Some flowers reaching up, on their toes, showing off

My smile is catching, I wish you could see
All these sights that bring pleasure to me
