Sign On The Dotted Line Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Sign On The Dotted Line

There is a battle going on for your soul
from the onset... between right or wrong
they are ever present… never resting
To whom will the coveted trophy belong

Celebrate or concede… what will be the tally
Opportunities are there for the hard working
participants…they're squaring off in the competition
Rewards may disappear when disgrace is lurking

The competition sometimes appears to switch sides
What seems to be a clear cut decision wears
a misleading disguise… smiling and leading the way
Which way to go… up or down the flight of stairs

Ultimately the choice to be made is straightforward
and one-dimensional… all it takes is your signature
on the dotted line of an official padlocked contract
determining if you are in the land of honey or vinegar
