Silence Poem by Naom Kerubo

Silence

Rating: 4.0

This night I didn't sleep for long
Even after trying to stay strong
One minute here and another one there
I don't know what I was trying to share

Was trying to get settled
But I was caught up and appeased
By this emotion that I hid
No good that I ever did

Slowly I want to take
This clock and try to shake
The arrows that are underneath
So I can finally breath

I am going away
To make anchors aweigh
And build up my own throne
Before my dreams are thrown

I truly like the word play in the final stanza; very good!
