Silent Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Silent

Silent

Take my word
Oh I will
One day
Shout as does the thunder
Blow as I must, volcano
And commit suicide as draught
In flood

Take my word.

Silence
Oh silence
I am silent
Like dead wave
Dead
In grave deep in sea; under mass
Under salty blue-green water

I am quiet
All ear like a mouse
Quiet
Like powerless prey
In trap
Out of breath
Quiet, I am
With tears in my eyes I observe
Where is the media on Yemen’s genocide?

Of course Indians
You also and you know what I mean
Columbus Indians
Not of the India
A mistake…
Silent I remain
Silently I have died in anger

And still, wild I watch
Andrew, the Jackson, on screen
An orphan
A Hitler
A hero; murderer…
