Silent Blood Drops Poem by Dakota Ellerton

Silent Blood Drops

I looked in her eyes,
and for the first time I'd seen tears.
This reminded me of myself,
when I'd been there.
That indescrible heartache.
The moment you truely realize,
the person you love lied,
you fall to pieces.
You can hear the silence,
where your heart once was.
Tears go un-noticed,
as they stream down your cheek.
The innocence slips away,
with thoughts running a bloody red.
What have they done to you?
What image of yourself is really planted in your mind?
The roots sink so deep,
we risk losing you if we pull them.
I'd never wish you to be in harms way,
to see you suffer is unreal.
You've slipped into a state so deep,
I'm sure you don't even feel the blade rip your skin anymore.
How much sadness will you carry in your heart?
My shoulder is always here,
you can be vulnerable with me.
I'd listen to you weep,
and whipe your tears before they dry.
Happiness whispers in your ear,
'come and get me'.
