Silent Tsu

hibakusha, survivors of the bomb,
pronounced with a silent u,
from hibachi and kusha,
charcoal brazier, and crumpled and wrinkled.

hibatsukusha,
pronounced with a silent tsu and a silent u,
from those two and batsu,
punishment and sin.
