Simply Embrace Poem by Holly Jamestone

Simply Embrace

When your car hits a bump in the road or a huge pothole
Your tire is flat and ailing
You jump out and rescue the tire, fix it
Yet you never discard the car

When the lawn turns copper, the flowers droop
You soothe them with a cool drink
Lovingly nurture them, reach out to them
Check on them periodically

When blessed with a once-in-a-lifetime love
That's under your skin, penetrates your soul
Making the sun shine and your heart light
You hold onto it for life

You cherish and memorize its message
Vow to never leave each other
Protect your foundation at all cost
Treasure, appreciate, admire, respect

If dark clouds appear outside the window or
Claps of thunder try to unsteady your parallel gait
You pull down the shade, then dance by candlelight
Finally sitting by the fire and reuniting, as you
SIMPLY EMBRACE
