Sin Has Lost Its Stranglehold Poem by Gary James Smith

Sin Has Lost Its Stranglehold

Sin Has Lost its Stranglehold

Sin has lost its stranglehold
Since I have been redeemed
Faith has given me victory over
What once had held me fast by its schemes
My soul has gloriously been translated
From the darkness into the light
Now I'm living in the Kingdom of God
And Heaven is my sole delight

I'm looking forward to that city
Whose builder and maker is God
Where with others who know the Lord
I'll stand on Heaven's sod
Where streets of gold is what we'll walk on
For up there there's a far greater worth
It's the person of the Lord Jesus Christ
The most precious name on earth!

Holy...holy...holy
It's the Lamb who for sinner's was slain
Every knee bowing and every tongue confessing
That Jesus is Lord...praise His name
To think that sin could have robbed me of
The whole of this earth's greatest treasure
A personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ
Praise God I trusted in that Saviour!

Hallelujah what a Saviour!
