Since Papa Left. Poem by Solomon Terlumun Tule

Since Papa Left.

Rating: 5.0

Since Papa left
It's like an iroko tree that fell
We often have seen hell
There are few who could say hello
Many want to see us below
Even papa's friends become foes
And look away from our woes
Some claim to be heroes
Continually stepping on our toes
That's exactly what they do!
Even those that seem to be our John doe
Are never seen around
They can not be found!
Since papa left.

Since Papa left
Their evil deeds
Are no more dimmed
My mothers have seen fiery thorns
Often we are mocked and scorned
Things became tough and rough
We are deserted, we mourn
Only a few wish us well
Many wish we should fall inside the well
And our paths should have a wall
In their hearts they wedge war
At our sight they are often enraged
And wish we could be caged
Even when we come in peace
They want to tear us to pieces
And throw us in a cave
But the chance God never gave
Since Papa left.
