Since We Are Equal Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Since We Are Equal

Since we are equal

In morning Lakeshore is
Good for search, attractive
Bus fills up and drops
Most women, in waiting
Since we are equal.

They have to be early
Get to wash; do makeup
Fixing hair, skirt, shirt
Then away in the run
Since we are equal.

Percentage in the lines
To go work, by the bus
For women is twice
Work time is nine to five
Since we are equal.

In office they chit-chat
Of fashions, boyfriends
Back biting toes to head
Hair style and makeup
Since we are equal.

Then at home lay worn out
Throw shoes as if some trash
On TV endless the advertise
Overcoat, underwear to bra
Money leaves the pocket
Long before it arrives
Since we are equal.
