I am awoken by my granny, a mighty Artemis indeed,
Before the crazy days, filled with sweet regrets and speed.
She talks about my Opa; the one that was her own,
Preaches Buddha and forgiveness,
And ‘bout the great unknown.
Yes those were the days, when everything was clear;
Filled with unicorns and sweets, and people I held dear.
I haven't reached my thirties yet, but now the end feels near
Down comes Herman Brood, to take me out of here.
Monkeys and zebras passing by
In my mind while I'm getting high
Because of these substances, so taboo
Like those parrots, I can fly
Now that my mind became a zoo.
Now Kurt Cobain is buried and rock ‘n roll is dead.
So I try to keep my senses but I lose my mind instead.
Those monkeys they start singing,
Ask if I want some bread.
Buttered with sweet dreams,
Oh what a splendid spread!
A great poem, we all have a little madness running through us.
