Sinking Deeper And Deeper Poem by Mohammad Younus

Sinking Deeper And Deeper

Sinking deeper and deeper
into the fathomless ocean of oneness,
I inhale divine light through my eyes,
reborn, shedding the old skin
of separation and duality.

With the ink of my love,
I paint the walls of my heart.
My delusions about reality
are devoured by echoes of unity,
whispering your name in harmony.

Why are we born as bubbles?
Only the ocean knows,
understanding why we rise
to the surface, only to disappear,
and then reappear anew.
The ocean tells me,
'You are of me,
you are no other than my own manifestation.'

The ocean, once nameless and loveless,
gave its bubbles a tongue:
'We cannot break away from you,
inseparable, we are the ocean in disguise.
Through our eyes, the ocean sees
its own reality.'
