Sinners? Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Sinners?

Sinners?

Could not find the sinner!

The father, a Russian?
Or mother, Ukrainian?

Or their sons, brothers?

Who defined the border?
The flag, and anthem?

Why are they divided?
Who ordered, demanded?

I am lost, confused,
In the search for reason!

It is inhumane! ! !
It is inhumane! ! !
It is inhumane! ! !

Sasha is in Peter,
And Yura in Kyiv.

Sasha fights, an officer,
Carries gun to murder,
Those like his brother!

Yura sighs and cries,
And tries to fight hate.

I talk with the mirror,
The mirror on a wall.

And we turn the pages,
From past to these days.

Tsars, Lenin, Gorbachev,
Washington to Reagan,
Also, NATO, WARSAW!

Feel flames in my heart.
