Hey role model, my sister
By birth you are my partner
Whenever I call for mother
You come as a preface for her
You prompt my little view
I see the world through you
That I found myself is few
What you do is fancifully new.
The pen you use I target
To get your hand perfect
The bag you throw away
I long to keep my way
The clips that pin up your hair
Itch my eyes and make me glare
Waiting for a chance to wear
Borrow the style that you fare
Wonder the words that you flaunt
Wait and use them as I want
Songs you hum always haunt
I sing them, though you taunt
All said and done, somehow
Life will just halt, move slow
Without your lustrous glow
Affection that always flow
Hold my hand for I am young
Fill me with the sense you bring
Take along the way you swing
Teach me the hymn that you sing!
Parents are a blessed blend
As they can't follow till end
They gave a sibling - friend
To hold the umbrella, God sent!

Good rendition of words with beautiful rhyme scheme. Piece of great elegance well penned from the heart with conviction. An insightful poem on the influence of 'big sister' over her much younger sister is aptly captured in the poem. A lovely poem indeed. Thanks for sharing Meenal. Please read my poem POETIC MASTERPIECE.
