Sit Up Straight - Poem by Logan Rheinst

Sit up straight.
Fold your hands.
Close your mouth.
Make the grade.

Lose yourself.
Lose who you are.
Don’t make your decisions.
You’ll stray too far.

Raise your hand.
Inside voice.
You piss when I tell you.
You don’t have a choice.

What were you thinking?
You can’t defy me.
I run your whole life.
Why can’t you see?

Don’t bother to fight me.
I’m like quick sand you’ll see.
The harder you struggle,
the less work there'll be.
