Sixteen Tears Poem by Shyamal R Swamy

Sixteen Tears

Rating: 4.5

One trickles down
For loneliness in a busy town
Two for fear
Of having no one near
Three, to be out, to be free
Yet stopped by a shivering knee
For for that shut door
Locked mind and desire to soar
They trickle upon my frown
They trickle down. They trickle down.

Five for the battle inside
Dark with no one to guide
Six on the roads many
None with a lucky penny
Seven wets unknown dreams
They flow hazy in these streams
Eight drenches me
Purifies to help see
They trickle upon my frown
They trickle down. They trickle down.

Nine for love that was
Of scars many, a cause
Ten soothes all
To help grow and stand tall
Eleven wakes a heart that dried
Cleansing tears that once it cried
Twelve dampens the grave
Of the past I buried brave
They trickle upon my frown
They trickle down. They trickle down.

New worries evoke thirteen
Embellishing the life of a teen
Fourteen for love that'll never be
Beyond reach, beyond me
Fifteen I shed for the unknown
Tomorrow, a new heart be sewn
Sixteen is an outburst
For love, my very first
They trickle upon my frown
They trickle down. They trickle down.

Oh, I shed these sixteen tears
Being sixteen years
I shed them down, down
To erase my frown
For, smiles these tears uncover
As pain does love for a lover
And so, all my teen years
They made me, these sixteen tears
They trickle upon my frown
They trickle down. They trickle down.
