Skipping In The Rain Poem by Cheryl Cheng

Skipping In The Rain

Rating: 5.0

'Thump thump thump.'
One step, two step, hop.
I'm skipping in the rain;
Living by the rhythm.
Why, you ask, in the rain?
The rain washes away my pain.
My heart thumps to the beat,
My hands flick all around,
My feet step up and down,
There's no room to think.
No room to ache my heart.
'Thump thump thump.'
Double step, one step, turn.
The rain pours down on me.
Onto my body; taking my pain.
Taking it away.
Every dropp contains one trouble.
Yet my heart still aches.
The rain whispers the secrets
The secrets of the Earth.
They influence my beat,
They influence my mind,
They influence my very heart.
'Thump, thump, tha-thump...'
I skip...to the beat of the very Earth.
